Stockholm Facts

Stockholm is the largest town of Sweden with a population of 1,600,000 (around 20% of Sweden’s total population). It has a history ranging 750 years back. Since the 13th century, Stockholm has been the economical and political center of Sweden. It is also site to the Swedish government, the parliament and it is the official residence of the Swedish Royal Family. There is an extensive selection of museums, events, restaurants and shopping.

Stockholm is located on the east coast of Sweden with the central parts of the city consisting of fourteen islands. The town has equal parts water, parks and built up areas. The climate is extremely varied with distinct seasons with mild summers and cold winters.
