Training Schedule

Ericsson Racing Team – Daily routine “Good morning sailors!”

The life of a team member is well regimented from morning to evening – all to maximize training time and knit the individual sailors into an efficient crew that’s able to overcome the challenges of the race ahead.

Their daily routine for winter testing looks like this:
07:00 - Sailing team heads to the gym for an hour of working out. The type of physical training performed is decided based on individual needs.
08:00 - Base opens.
08:45 - Breakfast. Monitoring of calorie intake.
09:15 - Team meeting to quickly de-brief on previous activities, followed by boat and sail work with the shore team.
10:00 - Posting of the crew list for the day’s training. Some members of the shore crew are taken along to supplement the crew and partake in the sailing activities. The sailing team loads the boat in preparation for the day’s session.
10:30-11:00 - Departure from dock, subject to wind conditions, for sailing practice.
16:00-16:30 - Return to dock. Work, repairs and maintenance until 1700 or 1800.
19:00 - Dinner at the Team house.

A two-week rotation scheme calls for five days on duty and two off, followed by six days on duty and one off. This allows everyone to enjoy a free Saturday to relax and do personal errands.

Of course, schedules and rotations are subject to change to accommodate off-shore training, night testing and similar needs.
